Kaamos is a Finnish word meaning the darkest period of winter in Northern Finland. During "kaamos" the sun stays below the horizon all the time, so technically the night the night continues for days or weeks, even for months. The period of Kaamos is the longer the closer you are to the North Pole.
I am a photographer and teacher, and live in Nokia, a town just outside Tampere, Finland. I have been a more or less professional photographer about all my adult age - I got my first slr-camera at age 15, got a job at photoshop as assistant and photographer at age 18... have done journalistic jobs, weddings, funerals and portraits since then.
